Black cat

Black cat, shadow creature, yellow eyes
and fangs.
A serpent tail airing emotion;
A savage leap, darkness in motion
A scream!  A scream!
Blood.
Black cat has the child gazelle in her jaws
And the herd watch, docile
As she eats her lunch,
take a number in the queue,
and wait until your number’s called.
Is this easy supermarket life any different
to the black cat devouring the weak?

I try not to think.
We eventually sink.
