Behold this trail of destruction
You leave in your wake
As a stone’s throw at the pond’s centre
A tsunami makes
I am the leaf raft dashed asunder
And you walk as a giant
Crowned in lightning and thunder
Careless of my wants, my desires, my needs
Deaf to my entreaties, my desperation, my pleas

And only when the thread is severed,
Only when we reach the end
Only then will I discover
That you were never my friend
